About Bill Bowles

Bill is originally from the Midwest but has spent most of his life in Florida. After earning an associate’s degree from Valencia Community College in Orlando and a B.A. in International Studies from the Rollins College – Hamilton Holt School in Winter Park, Florida, Bill went on to attend law School at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Bill graduated with honors in 1997 after two and a half years and served as a member of the Florida Law Review.

From law school Bill accepted a position in a well-known Tampa firm as an associate in the insurance defense section. Bill’s early practice at this firm consisted primarily in the defense of auto claims where he was able to gain some early trial and extensive litigation experience.

Bill next spent two years in the litigation department at another renowned Tampa firm working with and learning from an incredibly accomplished group of commercial litigators. While at this firm Bill tried multiple commercial cases involving various business disputes.

Bill then transitioned to work for another well-known and respected insurance defense firm where he spent five years gaining invaluable experience in the defense of nursing home, medical malpractice and product liability claims while working with an exceptional group of trial attorneys.

After ten years of primarily defending claims brought by individuals and companies who had sustained either personal injuries or business losses, Bill felt drawn to broaden his practice by becoming a Plaintiffs’ attorney. Over the following fifteen years Bill represented thousands of injured clients and tried numerous auto and premises liability cases to a successful conclusion.

During his entire professional career, one constant has been Bill’s sincere desire to develop friendships with the attorneys he has worked with and litigated against and with the clients he has represented. Building bridges between parties in conflict and between competing interests has been the most gratifying part of Bill’s practice.

In today’s post-Covid litigation environment, where the pressure to get cases mediated seems to be severely outpacing availability on the most popular mediators’ calendars, Bill is excited to bring his bridge building experience to the practice of mediation.
